If you have never worked with ABACA FIBER you're in for a real treat!   ABACA  FIBER is made from a close relative of the banana tree, producing a fiber that is amazingly strong & versatile.  This tough fiber is woven into a light, open, airy - but super tough textile.  We love this stuff, obviously since we carry it in so many different colors & in both a 2" wide 'RIBBON' width and a 19" wide 'WRAP' . 

Our ABACA 'RIBBON' comes in an assortment of rich hues, everything from bright tropicals & deep jewel tones, to subtle organic shades, creating a colorful and versatile collection of textiles.  The 2" wide 'RIBBONS' & the 19" wide 'WRAPS' are a great choice when you want something that has that natural look, yet is not neutral in color.  

ABACA FIBER has lots of "body" and can be used for everything from window coverings to table runners - the creative uses for this versatile material are limited only by your own imagination.  If you are an artist or craftsperson, this stuff is to die for!  We love to use bits and pieces in collage and/or mixed media artwork, it adds such an interesting texture to 2 dimensional artworks.

At Christmas time it is one of our favorites for weaving in and out of the tree branches, through a wreath or swaged across a mantle - and what a great way to wrap a gift! (perfect for presenting a hostess gift of a fine wine).  If you are "bow person", this stuff will make the BIGGEST most DRAMATIC bows you have ever seen! 

Sold "by the yard" or in a 50 yd. Bulk Roll, our ABACA FIBER 'RIBBON' width comes in over 25 rich colors that can be combined with other natural fibers or handmade papers for an endless variety of decorative and creative art/craft projects.  Many of the same colors are also available in our ABACA FIBER 'WRAP' (18") width.
