Palm Fiber

As the palm tree grows, it sheds this tough fiber/bark.  Relatively thin, the fiber is quite flexible, with thinner parts appearing somewhat "net" like.  Depending on how you use it, the Palm Fiber can resemble rawhide.  Pieces will vary in size from 11-18+" in width and 30-36+" in length.

Palm Fiber has "body", yet is quite supple and easily manipulated.  Make an organic "sleeve" for a vase or use as a backdrop for other artwork.  When used in front of a light source the fiber become highly visible (lampshades, window hanging, etc.)  Can also handle decorative top stitching, and is a great material for adding a natural or organic element to collage, mixed media, etc.  A great design material for all kinds of creative floral, craft and/or art work.  Sold by the piece.
