 "RAINDROPS" are made by the same people that make our Eurorap and our Homespun papers.  This group of artisans generally make their papers exclusively for the Japanese market, which has a very high standard for their art and wrapping papers. 

"RAINDROPS" Handmade Papers are very lightweight, transparent papers with a "raindrop" texture.  

The story goes that originally these papers would be made during the rainy season, and that the deckle, with its wet pulp, would be put out in the rain to create the "natural" texture (no paper in the dry season!).  Probably not done that way today, but the beautiful colors and textures are still the same.

"Veiled" effects using "RAINDROPS" Handmade Paper as an overlay on other imagery or Handmade Papers

Interesting effects can be achieved with these papers.  They can be used with various gel mediums to make them almost disappear, yet leaving enough to lend a "veiled" effect over other imagery.  Less moisture makes them less transparent.
